Features
EKAN® REDUCE IS is a formulated amendment based on iron sulfate in liquid form. EKAN® REDUCE IS possesses the following qualities:
- Exceptional stability during cement storage
- Ease of use
- Liquid additive
- No staining or retardation
- Compatibility with cement additives and concrete amendments
EKAN® REDUCE IS degrades hexavalent chromium (Chromium VI) to trivalent chromium (Chromium III) in hydrated cement.
The duration of EKAN® REDUCE IS activity in powder form cement is a maximum of 3 months.

Areas of use
- All types of cement according to ENV 197-1 standard, type I–V.
- The use of EKAN® REDUCE IS-P does not affect the performance of cement, mortar, or concrete.
- EKAN® REDUCE IS-P is compatible with commonly used cement additives and concrete amendments.
Application
Dosage: 150 g/ton – 300 g/ton per 1 ppm of Chromium (VI).
The effective dose of EKAN® REDUCE IS-P will depend on the desired duration of cement storage and the cement grinding and storage conditions. EKAN® REDUCE IS-P should be mixed in the storage tank to prevent precipitation. For detailed information, please contact EKAN sales representatives.

Precautions
Chromium (VI) levels ≤ 2 ppm have been maintained well beyond 3 months in cements treated with EKAN® REDUCE IS-P.
Storage stability depends on grinding and storage conditions.
All precautions defined in the SDS (safety data sheet) for EKAN® REDUCE IS-P must be followed.
